Community
Revitalization & Neighborhood Resources
LA NHS is dedicated to improving communities for, and with community members. Our approach
to community redevelopment is more than bricks and mortar. A successful
neighborhood is one where the residents are involved in, and care about,
their community.
LA NHS utilizes neighborhood revitalization as a tool to encourage resident leadership development and empowerment through block clubs. Through B.L.O.C. club development and ongoing training, local residents are empowered to work together to strengthen their communities. B.L.O.C. Clubs (Building Leadership by Organizing Communities) LA NHS assists homeowners to establish block clubs to help maintain and improve our Communities. BLOC clubs are one of the best tools for residents to organize, work on crime prevention and beautify the neighborhood. LA NHS conducts community outreach by developing neighborhood relationships and supporting existing groups. Over the years, LA NHS has established over 150 BLOC clubs across LA County. |

Twice a year, LA NHS hosts Neighborhood Pride Day, a revitalization effort held in our three targeted neighborhoods: Crenshaw, Pacoima, and San Pedro. LA NHS makes minor repairs and paints home for low to moderate-income families and seniors. The collaborative effort between residents, block clubs, corporate sponsors and volunteers is instrumental in making the event successful and allows us to make a visual impact in the community one block at a time. Click here for more information about Neighborhood Pride Day.
